Uses of Car stickers

Types of car stickers

At cut to fit graphics, all our car stickers can be made in various designs, sizes and shapes. However, the material and process used to make them does vary according to the design and uses of the sticker.

• Vinyl cut stickers or vinyl lettering made from plotting/cutting colored vinyl are the most common stickers for vehicles. This is because they do not fade, they do not require lamination and they do not have a background. One usually needs to use a transfer tape to transfer the design to the vehicle surface, hence sometimes they are known as transfer stickers. These stickers are completely weather resistant and are very durable. However, you cannot achieve gradients or full color images with these stickers though. A color logo requires that you cut the color pieces from various color materials which is time consuming and labor intensive. Small detail is also difficult to cut with a plotter.
• Printed car decals are printed in full color on white vinyl rolls and can have gradients and full color photos. You can achieve small detail with printed stickers. These stickers will fade with time though. They need to be laminated with a clear / transparent film on top in order to make them fully weather resistant to fading.
• Bumper stickers are specifically designed to be used on vehicles bumpers. They can be vinyl-cut stickers or printed decals with text and graphics.
• Car window stickers are meant to be used on the windows of vehicles. Vinyl cut stickers in white or other color are perfect for vehicle windows. They are fully weather resistant, durable and do not obscure the view inside the vehicle. Perforated window stickers can be used when full color graphics are required. These stickers are one-way vision though and only allow the occupants of a vehicle to see outside while those outside cannot see inside the vehicle.
• Reflective stickers use vinyl materials that are highly reflective which enhances their visibility especially at night when visibility is low because they reflect light back from car headlights and other artificial light like street lamps. Ambulances and emergency vehicles and planes are usually branded with reflective stickers.
• Magnetic vehicle stickers use a magnetic roll with a full color printed sticker on top. These stickers can be easily removed and repositioned when needed e.g. when vehicle is undergoing car wash.
• Transparent or clear stickers are used when the background color of the vehicle needs to be seen around the sticker wordings or logo but the said logo or wording is too small to cut with a plotter.
• Die-cut stickers are full color printed stickers with a custom shape. These stickers are usually cut into shape by use of a plotter or vinyl cutting machine after the printing process is done.
• 3D letters and graphics can also be used to brand and beautify vehicles. 3D letters require cutting with a CNC machine or laser and application on the vehicle with rivets in order to achieve the desired designs and reduce chances of them falling off when the vehicle is speeding.
